“What If?” is my year-long thesis project from the University of Michigan. This project explores my childhood obsessions with female celebrities and sexualized images in the media, expressed through self portraiture.

Through this project I aim to not simply critique celebrity culture and my obsessions with glamour and beauty, but to imagine a more complicated relationship that includes both critique and play. Click on each character below to read more about them and view the project.

Awards and Grants for this project: Arts at Michigan Minigrant, Integrative Project grant, Integrative Project Award, one of four finalists for the Big Idea Award (a $25,000 grant for projects to be continued after graduation).
